Saturday before Christmas

I'm in Spencerville and we have snow. I've been back home now for nearly 2 weeks. Haven't been productive at all. Lucky me has had a job interview though. Man oh man do I have a lot of sports toys. For anyone who doesn't know, I collect sports stuff. I bought over 40 McFarlanes in Hay River. I even found some in Whitehorse and shipped them home.

Tomorrow is my brothers birthday. So I got onto the EBAY the other day. It is a mad house for viewing sports related items. Which leads me to Dupuis taking me to a card shop in Ottawa. Great place, loads of stuff. Hans from the Philippines. I could spend hours there. I drool over this place. I went nuts on the McDonalds cards. Only needed 1 to complete the base set. Long live EBAY!

Bail out after bail out. What the hell happened here? How much money do we have? What is the International reaction to all of this? Are the Detriot Lions going to win a game this year? What is Bush going to do now? Not exactly the best person to have at your parties. Is he competent?

What was the deal with the shoe thrower? Bush Matrixxed himself out of harms way. So cool and calm like he knew it was coming almost. Never seen a President not knocked to the ground in 1/2 second.

My Chicago Blackhawks are going to the playoffs this year. Can't say the same for the Sens. A new ERA of hockey is upon us. Blow up the Sens, it was has to be done. This team will forever be tainted by shody play at the worst possible time. How does Kane look in Chicago? Sweetness I say.

$3 rebuy

So its Hump Day today. Got a lot of work done. Tomorrow I have to pound it harder. Whitehorse will be fun. Basically arrive to work ready to go and take off from there. Pete from Kingston was trucking in Edmonton last night. He got to Wisconsin today.

Will AJ Burnett stay with the Blue Jays? Not to bloody likely. He pitched strong tonight. Even tipped his cap. The poor old Jays who have looked oh so good at the end. They were the best team in baseball for a eriod. They were beating all the teams they had to beat. Thought for a second they could run the table like Colorado.

I think I may have mentioned this before, but Gerber and the Sens are going to be real good. The Jason Smith pick up is pure genious. Smith is die hard rough and tumble hockey player. He'll skate on 1 leg no problem. Kuba is a huge pick up as well. Kuba has no leadership responsibilities heaped on him. He can just master his already solid game.

Stamkos is the real deal as well. He'll produce and contend for the Calder. Hockey is fortunate of the draft system and eligiblity concerns. Rookies seasons in the NHL are great to watch, especially with a healthy batch of playes who can make an impact immediately.

Dennis Bevington the MP for Western Arctic should be voted for in the upcoming election. He has a voice in the parliament. I'm sorry but I just don't see (Brandon Bell PC) fitting the position at this moment. Bevington deserves to stay. The Liberal party leader is a woman that generally has no buzz. And Sam Gamble of the Green Party and he is young.

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

WELL IT IS ON RIGHT NOW BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE SCORE IS. ITS MONDAY, THEREFORE ITS PROJECT RUNWAY. I'M SITTING AT THE TABLE LOOKING AT A PICTURE OF ME WITH THE NWT LICENSE PLATE. THE PLATE ALONE IS AMAZING.

I'M ALSO PLAYING POKER RIGHT NOW. POKER HAS BEEN VERY GOOD TO ME. ALTHOUGH I DO PUT A LOT OF TIME INTO IT. BUT COMBINING EVERYTHING TOGETHER I'VE WON ROUGHLY $10000. ALL I REALLY HAVE TO SHOW FOR IT IS CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS. BUT I GUESS THATS ACTUALLY NOT A BAD THING.

I RAN 5KM AGAIN TODAY. UNDER 30 MINUTES WHICH IS A NEW PERSONAL BEST SINCE I STARTED WATCHING MY TIMES HERE IN YELLOWKNIFE. I CAN GO MORE. IT WAS BASICALLY A 10 MINUTE MILE PACE. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Ryder Cup Saturday

So here in Yellowknife on a brisky day. I ran over 5 1/2 miles today in 60 minutes. I think that is pretty good. And I also applied to college yesterday. The States seem to be leading right now. They have been hitting a l oy of puts. They have been clutch.

I got my hair cut earlier today. I think it turned out pretty good. I hate the fresh cut. You look like a dweeb for at least 7 days. I look in the mirror and all I can see is the new dew. Hair cuts suck. But the staff is nice. We baby sat a cat for a couple months earlier. Buddy had his entire jungle gym with him. Good times with the cat. But also some really annoying times. Poor neighbours must have thought we were starving it. He had such a bullshit meeeooowww. All the way down the hall you can here him.

Hockey season begins fairly soon. The Sens I think are going to surprise a lot of people. They are geared up and ready to go. Gerber is prime time this year, not Emery or general disractions. The trouble makers have been sent packing. Much like the Leafs who had to explode the dressing room up to start a completely new team. This team also I think can turn some teams upside down. Teams can bounce back really fast if they are given a fresh start.

Jeff Finger has to know that he is the luckiest guy in the NHL. His miracle contract will have eyes on him at all time. All he can do it play. But lordy if he sucks then Fletcher will take the heat for that one. It is deemed that he may not of even been worth $1 million a season. He is getting 3 + a season. Calling it right now. Ian White is better then Jeff Finger.

NOT HUMP DAY

SO TODAY WAS THURSDAY AND IT WAS A FAIRLY PRODUCTIVE DAY. I DID RUN ANOTHER 5KM TODAY BUT NOT TO MUCH MORE. I REALLY HAVE TO HIT THE WEIGHTS MORE OFTEN. SO YOU THINK CANADA IS ON TV RIGHT NOW. THE ANNOYING LADY FROM THE AMERICAN VERSION IS ALSO REPRESENTING THE AMERICAN HE HA.

ARE CANADIAN DANCERS BETTER THEN AMERICAN? I THINK WE HAVE A REALLY GOOD TALENT POOL TO DRAW FROM. EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE ONLY A FRACTION OF PEOPLE TO DRAW FROM. PLUS THEY PUMP SO MUCH MONEY INTO THAT TYPE OF THING. THE AMERICANS PUT SO MUCH MONEY AN EFFORT INTO ALL SPORTS. GOING TO A HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAME IS AN EXPERIENCE I'M SURE.

IN WORLDY NEWS TODAY, WE MIGHT HAVE WET SNOW IN THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS. WHAM THE SUMMER HAS LEFT AND FALL IS QUICKLY TURNING INTO FULL FLEDGE WINTER ACTION. MY BOSS SIG, IS WINNING SOME MAJOR NEWSPAPER AWARD/HONOUR IN THE YEAR FUTURE. THE PAPER IS GREAT PLACE TO WORK. THE ROAD TRIPS THAT ARE FULLY PAID ARE AMAZING.

Back From Hay River

So its Monday and I was in Hay River on the weekend. The Hay River Trade Show. Wasn't to bad. Met some people.

But other then that lets get to politics. Canada and the United States are both now headed towards elections. That should be interesting. Can Harper and crew lead the way back to the capital? Will all the leaders visit Yellowknife?

I think they all should out of good nature visit the capital of all the provinces and territories and meet with the local representative. We in the North have a lot at stake as the Arctic is drastically changing for good and bad.

Over time and with the Russians acting the way they are, it should't be totally out of the question that we seriously have to worry abot the Russians from the high arctic. Nobody believes that we hold all the land to the extreme pole.

Do you know that the Fins can't stand the Russians. All the Scands are bickering back and forth. But they are a great bunch of people and are very similar to us in many ways.

Ice Road Truckers are the toast of the town in America. They love the show and call up North all the time looking for Alex Debadorski.

DID YOU KNOW THAT PEOPLE IN YELLOWKNIFE HAVE TENT CITIES? IT'S SO TRUE.

I WAS WALKING DOWN A PATH THE OTHER DAY MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS, WHEN I SAW THIS PIECE OF PAPER HANGING IN SOME TREES. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION THE LETTER WAS FROM THE CITY OF YELLOWKNIFE INSTRUCTING THE TENT CITY HOBO'S TO TAKE DOWN THE TENT AND DWELLINGS OR IT SHALL BE REMOVED FOR THEM.

WELL IT HAPPENED. THE CITY CRANKED UP A NOTCH AND RIPPED TO SHREDS THE HABITAT OF A COUPLE. THE WOMAN BASICALLY HAS NO HOME AND LIVES ON THE STREETS. HER PARTNER APPARTENTLY CHOOSES T LIVE IN THE LAND, OR SHOLD I SAY CITY PROPERTY. HE SAYS THAT ALL HIS YEARS WORKING FOR "THE MAN" HAS MADE HIM WANT TO LIVE IN BETWEEN TREES.

WELL WHEN IT CAME TIME TO REMOVE THE TENTS THE WOMAN WAS HELD UP IN THE HOSPITAL FOR A BLOOD TRANSFUSION AND THE DUDE WAS WALKING AROUND PICKING UP CANS. THIS STORY MADE THE FRONT PAGE OF THE YELLOWKNIFER. AND IT GETS BETTE. THE VERY DAY THS STORY RAN I SAW THEM RUNNING AROUND TRYING TO SECURE GOODS BECAUSE EVERYTHING THAT THESE PEOPLE OWNED WAS PLACED AT THE DUMP. AND DUMP SHOPPING HERE IN YELLOWKNIFE IS A DAILY ACTIVITY FOR SOME SOME THERE LIFE POSSESIONS WERE GONE.

THE LIFE AND TIMES OF YELLOWKNOFE PEOPLE IS PRETTY FUN TO WATCH AND READ. PEOPLE ARE DRINKING IN THE STEETS AND DEALING DRUGS ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS. STORES HAVE TO LOCK UP LISTERINE BECAUSE IT IS THE DRINK OF CHOICE FOR NATIVES WHO HAVE SPENT ALL THERE RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL MONEY.

YELLOWKNIFE IS A CITY IN CANADA THAT CAN MAKE YOU A VERY WEALTHY PERSON IS YOU STICK AROUND. AND THE LONGER YOU STICK AROUND THE MRE LIKELY YOU WILL SEE A CRACK COCAINE DEAL GO DOWN.

AS I SEE IT

As I see it the Blue Jays are not going to make the playoffs. The Chinese immigrant from Edmonton who beheaded Tim Maclean on a greyhound bus wants to be killed. Sundin really is taking his time making his mind about playing hockey next year. Mariah isn't deforced yet. They continue to build a bridge joing Yellowknife to "the south" Britney seems to have gotten it together.

The Olympics start this week. Its great over in Asia. Its actually great everywhere. Saw Dark Knight the other day, fell asleep. I woke up with such a kink in my neck, actually went to bed early cause I was in pain. I also fell asleep last summer watching TRANSFORMERS. Yellowknife is great. Jackson Lafferty the Minister of Youth is charged with sexual assault of a 14 year old girl. Floyd Roland the Premiere might have known about the pending charges before he gave him the control of THE YOUTH.

OBAMA or McCain???

Is it just me or has the US building up to another 9/11? Is it not inevitable that the "terrorists" are going to strike again? Do you not think that it is entirely possible that someone will assassinate OBAMA?

Do you know that the world is waiting for another attack? Are Americans really that naive to think that the world doesn't want to see something bad happen to them. The IRAQ war has clearly been a thorn in the side of the government. When was the last time they mentioned the grand total of dead 19-23 year old? And that is just the dead, what about all the injured who now have basically nothing left for them?


Now it looks like Afghanistan is taking back the controls of dead people. And why don't we get rid of the heroin trade. If I know my facts, heroin is supplied to over 90% of the world from the southern Afghan provinces. What is the hold up? Why can't we do anything about it?

McCain is old, OBAMA is black.

If McCain wins the likely hood of him having a heart attack that seriously puts him and America at risk is fairly high. Lets face the facts, he is old, old people get sick easily. He gets sick and VP whoever takes over and no matter what the country is going to feel vulnerable and weak.

OBAMA is black. Trying to become the first black president in a country that has many daily black confrontations is a daunting task. America is a racists place. The country is so wide spread with different backgrounds and beliefs that people will clearly take offence that there president is black that some extremist could take things into there own hands and end it all before it begins.

I don't care who you are, if someone wants to get to you then they will. Who can really keep everyone away from someone. The FBI or Special Services can't be there all the time. You can only cover so many angles at once. And when you think you got it all, someone will take it all away and back everything a big fat mess.

I just hope and prey that my Canadian government doesn't get to wrapped up in everything. Cause right now we seem to be eating food right out of the Americans hands. Lord know we let anyone and everyone in our great country. Maybe that's why they haven't attacked us yet because we are just so easy to penetrate as it is.

Good luck Presidential nominees. Your all in for the battle of your life's for the next 4-8 years. It won't stop, terrorism is here for ever.

Indian Slang

So I'm walking around downtown Yelloknife today, minding my own business which is pretty hard. The Natives come out in gangs during the days with sun. The downtown has been referred to the Gaza Strip of Canada. Which isn't hard to believe because it is crazy nuts. On any given day and at any moment a fight can beak out.

Which brings me to the "line of the day"

Imagine to grossly unhygiened indians sharing cigs on the corner. An older lady and a youger man on the becnh and a approaching older gentlemen heading there way. Now I don't know if the Natives have a system where the elders get first dibs on things, cause the older guy certainly tried for it.

The old man walks up and says "get off the bench" to the younger guy

The old woman says "he's my cousin"

The older man then stands right in the face of the younger guy and starts shoving him and tell him to "shut the fuck up and get up"

The younger guys pushes him off and says "hey man I'm justing sitting down"

The older man finally grabs the guy drags him of the bench and says

"Get the FUCK OFF THE BENCH OR I'LL SPRAY YOU IN THE EYES WITH MY ARESOL CAN"

What is the Deal with "The Hills"?

I can't help but wonder why there is a show about 7 or so rich spoiled brats from California. Is this television? I think not. MTV must have got hit in the head really hard to come up and allow for this dribble to be aired on a week to week basis. I would much rather watch old re runs of COPS.



And Heidi and Spencer are suck publicity whores. Making out sessions at the DMV. Lame photo shoots at Disney Land. And lordy lordy thank god I haven't been subjected to watching the entire 3 or so minutes of crap of home made music videos. Seriously Paris Hiltons video was at least done professionally, not done by some rich school kid who can push record on a camcorder from Circuit City.



Lets not forget about Audrina. Something about her just doesn't click with me. She essentially is just filling space on the show and suddenly she is the new glame girl. Is it just me or is her face messed up a bit. Its like she had a lazy eye in the past and got it fixed before the camera's got to her.
